Clad — Terms of Use

Effective date: June 6, 2026 Last updated: June 6, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Clad iOS application (“Clad”, “the app”). By installing or using Clad, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

If you have questions, contact benjaminharriscody@yahoo.com.

1. Who provides Clad

Clad is published by Benjamin Harris Cody (“we”, “us”), located at 6815 Payton Road, Cumming, GA 30041.

2. What Clad does

Clad listens to a live conversation, transcribes it, and uses xAI’s Grok large-language models to flag claims that may be false, unsupported, or rhetorically misleading. It operates entirely on your own xAI API key — Clad does not provide AI services itself and does not act as a reseller of xAI’s services.

3. Your responsibilities

By using Clad, you agree that:

4. AI-generated content

Clad’s verdicts, flags, broadcast report cards, and on-demand “Hey Clad” replies are AI-generated and may be incorrect, incomplete, biased, or out-of-date. They are presented as informational signals, not authoritative determinations. Do not rely on Clad as a sole source of truth for any consequential decision. Clad is not a substitute for professional fact-checking, journalism, legal counsel, or medical / financial / political advice.

You — not Clad’s publisher — bear final responsibility for any decision you make using Clad’s output.

5. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by applicable law:

Some jurisdictions don’t allow some of the above exclusions; in those places, our liability is limited to the minimum allowed by law.

6. Third-party services

Clad calls third-party APIs to deliver its features. Your use of Clad incorporates the terms of those services for the relevant calls. The active providers are:

7. No accounts; termination

Clad has no user accounts. To stop using Clad, delete the app — this removes the Keychain entry holding your xAI API key, preferences stored in iOS UserDefaults, and any cached PDFs.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue Clad at any time, with or without notice.

8. Intellectual property

The Clad name, the broadsheet design language, the in-app photographic and graphic assets, and the Clad source code are owned by Benjamin Harris Cody. You receive a limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use Clad on personal Apple devices for non-commercial purposes consistent with these Terms.

You retain ownership of any content you record, transcripts you generate with Clad, and reports you export.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the Effective date above and surfaced in the Settings screen on the next launch following the change. Your continued use of Clad after the revised date constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. You and we agree that any dispute arising out of these Terms will be brought in the courts located in Forsyth County, Georgia.
